Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 10 hours per week) Student Support Services position as a Program Coordinator for Oregon State University Cascades Campus (OSU-Cascades) in Bend, Oregon.

As an active member of the Student Programming Board, you will create, expand, and develop programs & events designed to increase the retention and success of OSU-Cascades Students. You’ll help to plan annual campus events such as MLK Jr. Day of Service, Fermentation Education, Hunger Banquet, and new ideas you and your team will come up with. This position works 10 hours per week throughout the year, including summer, winter, and spring breaks.

OSU-Cascades, located in Bend, Ore., is a branch campus of Oregon State University. Established in 2001, the university currently enrolls more than 1,100 students in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The campus expanded to a four-year university in 2015, and opened its new campus in 2016. The branch campus has ambitious enrollment goals to reach 3,000 to 5,000 students by 2025. OSU-Cascades is engaged in building a culturally diverse and community-centric educational environment.

Position Duties

• Plan campus-wide events and activities
• Help to organize and coordinate Welcome Week programs.
• Help to coordinate New Student Orientations
• Provide general office support including: answering phones, checking and responding to emails, assisting walk-in students, and others
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Additional Required Qualifications

• Must have completed at least one year at OSU-Cascades
• Must be a enrolled in at least six (6) credits at OSU-Cascades
• Must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout the employment period

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

• Experience planning events and collaborating with campus partners to achieve success
• Able to complete work in an accurate and timely manner with autonomy
• Possess strong interpersonal communication skills
• Organized and detail oriented
• Motivated, energetic, and able to maintain a positive attitude, especially in stressful situations
