Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill 2 part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Facilities/Maintenance positions for the Business Affairs Department at Oregon State University (OSU).

The PCMM Student Warehouse Worker supports the daily warehouse operations that includes receiving and pricing inventory, organizing and moving warehouse inventory and supporting the Property Specialist 3-Warehouse.

Position Duties

90% WAREHOUSE SUPPORT:
This position receives inventory including items for housewares, scientific, office supplies and eBay. This includes sorting and pricing surplus items and driving a variety of State owned vehicles to pick up surplus at campus locations. Assists with OSUsed Store sales that may include cashiering, assisting customers and assisting in the yard.

10% Other duties as needed.

The Materials Management unit supports the sustainability objectives of OSU. The staff and students work with departments to assure that OSU is a leader in reuse and recycling. This requires:

A commitment to recycling.

Excellent customer service.

Attention to detail and following instructions is important to meet our customer expectations.

Willingness to learn to drive a fork lift.

Ability to safely lift, carry, push, pull and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and use material handling equipment.

Safety is important for all workers.

Some of the work may be outside, entering a variety of buildings and driving large vehicles.

Requires a lot of standing and moving and a willingness to get dirty.

A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Enrollment in OSU or LBCC for a minimum of 6 credit hours.

Knowledge of moving equipment.

Retail sales, including pricing and stocking of inventory.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

Warehouse hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Ideally, this position is scheduled in 4 hour shifts, from 8:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-5:00pm.

Willing to work in warehouse environment with varying, sometimes extreme temperatures and/or weather.

Be available to work 10-20 hours per week, with some availability Tuesday evenings.Full time work may be available during breaks and summer term.
