Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Technical position for the School of Social and Behavioral Health Science at Oregon State University (OSU).

This is an hourly undergraduate research assistant position to work on ongoing projects led by Dr. Megan McClelland. This position will assist with data collection in preschool and kindergarten classrooms, and attend regular project team meetings.

The research assistant will work independently and as a part of a team to make project decisions. This position will have access to confidential information from study participants. Although standard protocols are used in the research projects, the research assistant may make modifications based on day-to-day requirements, and may need to independently choose from a variety of possible solutions to facilitate data collection and research activities.

Position Duties

40% Data Collection

  • Collect data while at data collection sites.
  • In addition, this position will model and administer direct assessments and provide feedback to project staff in order to ensure the standard administration of protocols are followed during data collection.
  • 20% Project Support

  • Assist the project team with various aspects of ongoing research projects.
  • 20% Communication

  • Interact directly with research participants at data collection sites to provide updates and general information on the project.
  • Additionally, this position will report data collection activities to project staff.
  • 10% Weekly Meeting Attendance

  • Attend and contribute to weekly project meetings.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Additional Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience administering standardized self-regulation and early academic achievement assessments to preschool/kindergarten aged children.
  • Experience working with children and teachers in school settings.

  • Preferred (Special) Qualifications

  • Proficient in Spanish.
  • Undergraduate student in CPHHS at Oregon State University.
  • Working Conditions / Work Schedule
