Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (up to 12 hours per week anticipated with a maximum of 20 hours per week during academic terms) Student Clerical (International Visitor Support Admin) position for the College of Forestry (CoF) at Oregon State University (OSU).

With a strong commitment to internationalization and a reputation as a global leader in all aspects of Forestry, the College of Forestry welcomes a diverse population of students and scholars from countries around the world. This position will support these efforts by assisting with international student and scholar immigration documentation, welcome and orientation resources, and events that support an internationally engaged community. This position requires a high degree of organization and accuracy paired with a professional and friendly manner. This is an excellent opportunity for a student with international interests, particularly in terms of ecology, the environment, and the natural world.

Position Duties

100% Duties Include:
• With coordinator, organize immigration material preparation/delivery for visiting international students and scholars.
• Work with Office of International Services to ensure timely, accurate, and complete submission of international visitor immigration documentation.
• Assist with maintaining website/resources for visiting students/scholars; first point of contact for assistance, welcome before and on arrival.
Assist visiting scholars with orientation, logistics of stay, financial matters.
• Assist with event scheduling/management for seminars/visiting delegations; coordinate excursions, meetings, meals, etc.
• With coordinator, organize social and educational events for incoming and outgoing CoF students and faculty to build recognition of international opportunities and develop internationally engaged community.
• Assist with outreach for CoF events above, also for orientations, CoF social events that relate to international students/visitors.
• Assist coordinator in processing expenditures/travel reimbursements with the FOBC for international programs and initiatives.
• Join in unit effort to attract international students to the CoF.
• Represent CoF International programs at events such as career/internship fairs, club fairs, open houses.
• This position will have access to and will be required to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and documents such as passports and immigration paperwork.

Additional Required Qualifications

Excellent customer service skills.

Organizational skills with strong attention to detail

Ability to manage time and prioritize work-flow.

Familiarity with general office software (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Adobe).

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

Approval for work-study.

International travel and/or study experience.

Proficiency in a second language.

A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
