Position Summary

This recruitment will be used to fill 1-3 part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Project Assistant positions for Extended Campus at Oregon State University (OSU).

Student performs research for faculty requesting the use of open educational resources in their courses and provides support for Open Oregon State within Extended Campus. This position helps to find and evaluate open materials. This position also helps with general administrative tasks such as office work, project tracking and other regular office duties.

Position Duties

Support for Open Oregon State includes:

-Research
Research and find appropriate materials for use in courses. Research copyright holder, public domain, and open educational resources materials for faculty. These materials can include open/free textbooks and other open materials.

-Project Tracking
Helps track projects currently in development and corresponds with faculty. Helps to send out form email.
Formats documents for use in online textbooks and posts them using a simple to use WordPress plug-in tool.

-Recommend Creation of New Media
Suggests the creation of educational media if appropriate resources do not already exist.

-Curates Open Material Collections
Curates collections of open materials in use and those for possible use.

Skilled at finding resources on the internet.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent computer skills which augment and support the duties of the position.

Excellent organization skills.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

Office environment.

Work schedule up to 20 hours/week available during the term.
