Position Summary

Support the Memorial Union Building Services daily operations and professional facilities staff.
The MU, SEC, Cultural Resource Centers, Childcare Center and 6 satellite retail food operations
count on Building Services Staff to support and maintain their programs’ mechanical, HVAC and life-safety equipment.

This recruitment will be used to fill three part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Student Facilities/Maintenance positions for the Memorial Union at Oregon State University.

Position Duties

Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on furniture, fixtures and equipment.
Perform PM’s (filter changes, coil cleaning & inspections) on HVAC and refrigeration assets in
restaurants and meeting rooms.
Assemble, move, add and change program furniture and equipment
Minor custodial work behind the scenes in support of daily maintenance operations

Minimum Qualifications

Additional Required Qualifications

Must meet minimum academic enrollment requirements (6 credits each term)
Must be able to lift/carry 25 pounds

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

Ability to work well in a team envornment and communcate well with coworkers, leads and
managers.
Demonstrated experience or willingness to provide superior customer service

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

Shifts are 2-5 hours developed around yours and fellow staffer’s academic schedules and
meeting the needs of operations. Worksite is campus wide accross 8-13 buildings and will have
you up and moving for most of your shift. Staff need to maintain situational awareness for safety
issues, mechanical troubles and cosmetic building issues.

The student worker may be required to work up to an approximate 20 hours per week.
