Position Summary

The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University (OSU) invites applications for one or more full-time (1.00 FTE), tenure-track, 9-month Assistant, Associate, or Full professor positions in the Electrical and Computer Engineering areas of embedded systems, digital systems, and energy systems to begin Fall 2018. Applicants must hold a doctorate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or closely related field. The successful candidate is expected to initiate new funded research as well as expand, complement, and collaborate with existing research programs in the School, the College of Engineering, and beyond. The successful candidate is also expected to perform duties related to teaching, student advising, advancing appropriate research and other scholarly activities, and service activities. Position Duties

40% Teaching and related duties
-Teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

50% Research and scholarly activities
-Research, scholarship, mentoring students and management of multidisciplinary research programs.

10% Service
-Service to the School, College and/or University. Participate in regional and national professional service activities.

Minimum/Required Qualifications

Minimum/Required Qualifications at the level of Assistant Professor:
● Applicants must have earned a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline prior to position start date.
● Demonstrated ability or significant potential for excellent teaching.
● Demonstrated ability or significant potential for leading and collaborating in innovative research.
● Demonstrated ability or significant potential for attracting the necessary funding to sustain a vigorous research program.
● Proven oral and written communication skills.
● A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

Minimum/Required Qualifications at the level of Associate or Full Professor:
● Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline.
● Demonstrated ability to provide inspiration and leadership in teaching.
● Demonstrated ability to provide inspiration and leadership in research.
● Demonstrated ability for attracting the necessary funding to sustain a vigorous research program.
● Proven oral and written communication skills.
● A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications at the level of Assistant Professor:
● Postdoctoral and/or industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications at the level of Associate or Full Professor:
● Ability to build collaborative ties with other departments within the College of Engineering, University and beyond.
